Sophie Videos

Neal has gotten yet another new toy. He is so super excited about his new camera, not only does it take still photographs, but high definition video as well. He came home from work, he has all important things delivered to him at work so he gets to be the first to see it, like a kid from the candy store! He could not wait to start playing around with all the neat new features and Sophie, his little muse was happy to oblige. We have posted two of the videos taken from the new camera.

Sophie Sings

Ever since my birthday Sophie has been obsessed with birthdays and has not quite got that my birthday has come and gone. Out of the blue some days she will just look at me with those big brown eyes and so genuinely say, "Happy Birthday, Mommy". Just yesterday I let her have a cupcake and told her it was a special treat, she was so excited and said "Oooooh special treat, it's Mommy's birthday, Happy Birthday Mommy"! So with Sophie thinking that it is my birthday just about everyday she will sing Happy Birthday almost on a daily basis. I was finally able to capture it on camera and she is getting pretty good, she has the tune down and everything! Check out the little songstress in action.

Sophie's Secret Language

In an attempt to do something fun for the afternoon and help pass the time since it has been bitter cold for us here in the Carolinas, Sophie and I experimented with some Magic Grow Safari Animals, an idea that we poached from our friends, Abbie and Morgan. When we saw that Abbie and Morgan had so much fun with these odd little capsules that I loved playing with as a child too, I remembered that Neal had a package of these capsules from a couple of Christmases ago when I could not think of anything else to stuff in his stocking. Well, either the capsules were too old and busted or I didn't put warm enough water in because I had to basically rip open the capsules to reveal the spongey safari shaped animal trapped inside. Regardless of how the little animals emerged from their capsule, Sophie had a blast playing in the water and talking away to me and herself in her secret little language that she has come up with in the recent weeks. She thinks that it is absolutely hilarious that she is being so silly and that Neal and I have no clue what she is saying, all we can do is say, "What???" and giggle along with her, which only makes her laugh harder and continue to act like a goofy little two year old girl. I hope it makes you giggle too!

Perfecto!

Neal's two co workers, Erin and Blake are headed off to Sundance film festival, yes that's right SUNDANCE!!!! YAY Erin and Blake. They entered a short 5 minute film into a world wide contest called Project Direct on YouTube where the public voted on all the submissions along with a panel of Sundance judges. Not only did they win the trip to Sundance, but they also get their film put on a DVD (along with the 2nd & 3rd place winners) to be distributed at the festival!!! Check out their hard work below!

You're So Vain

With a camera constantly in her face, naturally Sophie loves looking pictures of herself and is giddy with laughter when she sees a video of herself and must watch the video over and over and over again. Ahhhh the blatant vanity of a two year old. Lately, she has been really into watching a little movie that Neal put together a while ago of some footage from our April 2008 trip to Boston. Back story: Sophie, myself and my mom went up to Boston to visit with family and surprise my cousin, Jenn, at her baby shower and while we were there Sophie got reacquainted with her cousin Braedon and I was faithfully two steps behind with the video camera! They are only 5 weeks apart in age so it was a blast to watch them together. They were inseparable for the entire week we, it was so sad to tear them apart. I think that we have shared this video with everyone before, but she has been so hung up on watching it lately, demanding,"I watch Sophie and Braedon!" so I had to share again! I am getting a kick out of looking back at a mere 9 months ago and seeing how much she and Braedon have changed in the time between then and now. Enjoy......again!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope that your Christmas morning was as blissful as ours was. We were woken up at 6am to the glorious sounds of a happy two year old playing in her room, we gave her (and us) a little more time to wake up and then went up to her room to greet her and let her know that Santa had indeed visited our house. Sophie's reaction to the presents under the tree cannot be described in words, it is just too cute, so I will let the video posted below show you that!

Unwrapping the presents from start to finish took close to an hour, and there was really not a ton to open. I thought for sure she would tear through all the presents and be looking for more. Not our Sweet Sophie, she was just so excited about each gift that she opened, especially gifts with anything Princess in it, on it, or around it! We could not have asked for a more perfect morning, Neal and I are truly blessed to have each other and such a beautiful, happy, healthy child. We are grateful for all we have in life especially all our family and friends!

Sophie was so worn out after all the present opening festivities and playing with her new toys, she was begging Neal to go to bed at 10:30! She will need her rest, because as soon as she gets up we are packing up and heading up to Gigi and Papa K's house for more presents and food! We will post more Christmas pics later I just wanted to get this video up for all to see!
